Grand Pearl Cruise

Grand Pearl Cruise

“Witness the beauty of the Chao Phraya River and rural life along the two riverbanks from the cruise deck or from the cool, air-conditioned passenger cabin.”
This was the last part of our Ayutthaya by Grand Pearl tour, a return journey to Bangkok via cruise ship. It’s almost 1 o’ clock in the afternoon when we reached Wat Chong-lom Pier in Nonthaburi.

We were the first to arrive and board the ship. I guess this is what the couples from our group were looking forward to. They looked excited and were musing for the buffet. My stomach was already complaining. But since we still had the whole boat to ourselves, we took advantage of taking photos at the upper deck. We were already enjoying our lunch as guests from different travel & tour agencies started arriving.

I asked for coffee as soon as we were seated. I saw the baffled look from the waiter's face. He told me that coffee is best served after a meal. So I explained to him that I'd like to drink one now because I'm so sleepy, which I actually am because I'm not used to waking up early. Here's a taste of the lunch buffet and our food.

The scenery along Chao Phraya River was really fascinating. I was at the cruise deck almost throughout the trip. I didn’t mind getting tanned. It felt like the sun, the wind and the river are embracing me. I actually secretly cried. The feeling of happiness makes me saddest these days.

There was a voice over announcement each time we passed through an important landmark. We were too busy admiring the view and taking photos so we didn't pay much attention to it. All I can remember was that we passed through Pathumthani and Nonthaburi provinces before arriving at the River City Pier in Bangkok. I am glad we booked this tour because this was a memorable experience indeed.
