Our next destination was Wat Phra Kaew, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, the most beautiful and the most revered Buddhist temple in Thailand. Although full of tourists, it was an amazing place to visit. The architecture, sculpture, mural paintings and everything else we saw within the temple grounds were a wealth of art.
While one can leisurely move within the complex, we were reminded again by Oil that one is expected to act with due respect when inside the temple. We’ve been to two Wats, and by now we already knew that we need to be dressed appropriately and leave our shoes outside. We also learned that we cannot point our feet toward the Buddha image when sitting or kneeling. Also, photography is not allowed inside some temples.
After marveling at the grandness of Wat Phra Kaew, we moved next
to the Grand Palace.
